The artist
Dean Williams was born in Denver, Colorado. His family moved to northern California in 1958, and it was there that he was educated and raised. His artistic talents became evident at an early age. Prompted by school officials, he was enrolled in open oil painting classes at the college of San Mateo’s Coyote Point campus at the ripe old age of seven years old. With the encouragement of his family and teachers, he excelled at art all throughout school. He received scholarship recognition and honors from High school, and continued his formal fine arts education at American River College in Sacramento Ca., Academy of Arts College in San Francisco
Ca., and California State University in Sacramento Ca., graduating cum laude and culminating by earning his Masters of Art degree with emphasis in Arts in education.
During his professional career, Dean has earned wide acclaim as an artist, muralist and sculptor. He has been an art consultant to a major artist supply chain, and he has been an open enrolment airbrush instructor at the University California, Davis.
Over the years, his works have been featured in numerous national publications and newspaper articles. His work has adorned the covers of record albums, CDs, calendars and customized show vehicles. Most of his larger mural works may be seen either in or on, public and private buildings in the western United States. Other examples of Dean work have gone on world tour and been shown in the Smithsonian Institute (east coast) and included in the permanent collection of the Crocker Fine Arts museum (west coast.) Dean's clientele includes collectors on three continents.
Professionally proficient in many mediums, Dean is most widely acclaimed for his realistic freehand airbrush murals. The way that he combines together techniques from different artistic mediums allows Dean to paint murals on just about anything; from customized show vehicles to museum walls, Dean has proven that for him....
